The PleurX™ Pleural Catheter System is indicated for the intermittent, long-term drainage of symptomatic and recurrent pleural effusions, including malignant pleural effusions and other recurrent effusions unresponsive to medical treatment of the underlying disease. The devices are indicated to relieve dyspnea caused by pleural effusion and provide pleurodesis (resolution of pleural effusion). The PleurX™ Pleural Catheter is indicated for adults only. The lockable drainage line is used to drain fluid using standard wall suction, a water-seal drainage system, a vacuum bottle, or other suitable method.
